The aim of the event
In each year numerous volunteers enter into the Ambulance Corps of the Hungarian Maltese Charity Service. Most of them are coming from the „civil” life, and they do not have any kind of medical knowledge or practice. That was the reason, why the Malta Ambulance Corps from the beginning put enormous energy into the professional training. We organised a yearly course, a kind of basic emergency medical education. Finishing successfully this training, the new volunteer has the right to take part in the ambulance job, sitting on our ambulance vehicle as a member of the crew.
But due to the high interest, the postgraduate training would last too long. So the need of an intensive practicing event came up, and we organised a training weekend, in this year the third in a row.
This weekend offers the possibility for the new members to use the newly acquired knowledge, for the old members and professionals to refresh their’s and to learn something new, and keep themselves up to date.
But above these a weekend like this is an ideal place for the volunteers to meet each other, coming from the same, or the neighbouring countries (as we have seen it before from our austrian friends int he last fifteen years…).
So, the keywords could be the following: training, learning, enjoying…
The venue of the event
Since the beginning the same place serves as the venue of the weekend. This is the „Pákozdi Arborétum”, a wonderful nature reservation area, just int he neighbourhood of the Velence-lake, exactly 50 km far in south-west direction from Budapest.
On this weekend the whole area is closed for us, so between the programs man can discover the colours of early autumn nature.
